Open Domestic Abuse Champions Training Course
This core training programme brings together professionals for four comprehensive modules delivered over two days. The focus is on building collaboration and shared understanding, because a joined-up response leads to greater impact.
Our preferred delivery method is in-person, to encourage real-time connection and networking.
DAY ONE
Day One explores the fundamentals: what domestic abuse is, the statutory definition, and the far-reaching effects on victims and their families. We take a deep dive into the impact of abuse on children, from pre-birth through to adulthood. This can be an emotionally charged day, and as such, is always delivered by two experienced trainers.
DAY TWO
Day Two is more practical and focused on response. We cover how to identify, assess, and manage the risk of serious harm. Participants will also explore the role of a Domestic Abuse Champion, how the champion network operates, and what resources are available through the Champions’ Hub. Trained Champions gain enhanced access to tools and support.
